Park Facts:

This 1-acre pioneer cemetery, located adjacent to Pater Park Wildlife Area, was established in 1855.  About 60 pioneers are known to be buried in the cemetery, including veterans from the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican-American War, and the Civil War.  Bunker Hill was the final resting place of the Bressler brothers, Jonathan and Mathias, who fought on opposing sides in the war between the states, though Mathias Bressler was moved to Venice (Ross) Cemetery before 1920.
