Emerald Ash Borer Alert

MetroParks of Butler County is working with other state agencies to stop the spread of the emerald ash borer, an exotic insect that kills ash trees. Because this pest is extensively found in Michigan and in parts of Indiana, Illinois and Ohio, the movement of firewood from these areas, into and out of Ohio has been banned. Due to this situation, MetroParks of Butler County will no longer allow firewood to be brought into the parks. Firewood must be purchased from MetroParks areas where campfires are permitted. To order firewood, please contact the Administrative Headquarters at     (513) 867-5835     or toll free at 1-877-PARKFUN. For more information about the emerald ash borer (click here).
